February 22nd Yannopoulou School - The flows of immigrants and refugees of Hellenism in Venice - Modern Greece as a host country
On February 22nd the Yannopoulou School visited the Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice. The students with the professors were guided to the premises of the Institute, the Museum of Icons and the church of San Giorgio dei Greci, where they were welcomed by the His Eminence Metropolitan of Italy Polykarpos and the President of the Greek Orthodox Community of Venice, Mr. Dimitrios Zafiropoulos. They then presented their report “The flows of immigrants and refugees of Hellenism in Venice – Modern Greece as a host country” in the Sala di Capitolo. The students and their accompanying teachers were welcomed by the President of the Hellenic Institute. The Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mrs. Sofia Voultepsi, the Secretary General of Vulnerable Citizens, Dr. Iraklis Moskof, the reverend Metropolitan of Italy, the President of the Greek Orthodox Community of Venice, the Honorary Consul of Greece in Venice Dr. Bruno Bernardi and the academic advisor of the General Secretariat of Vulnerable Citizens Dr. Maria Papathanasiou greeted the event. Afterwords, Deputy Minister Voultepsi was guided to the premises of the Hellenic Institute, was informed about its activities and signed the book of Excellent Guests.
